Emerald City has officially settled in Dallas. One of the most anticipated Broadway musicals, Wicked, is now showing at Music Hall in Fair Park. What to expect? Oh you know, lots of singing, lots of dancing, and lots of GREEN!
Songs like “Popular”, “Defying Gravity”, and “No Good Deed” are sure to take you back to that one time when Elphaba (Emily Koch) and Glinda (Amanda Jane Cooper) were just two friends excited to meet the Great Oz. The story takes us back to before Dorothy decided dropped in. Elphaba and Glinda were young but both posses opposite personalities. Elphaba is smart, witty and sharp while Glinda was bubbly, shallow and with an airy sense of humor. Both set out to Emerald City to meet with the Great Oz and save the Animals of supression. But Elphaba is soon confronted with her reality: her special powers. While Glinda is caught between her friend Elphaba or whether to remain in good graces with the Ozians.
Wicked features an amazing work of lights, vocals and costumes. Elphaba even gets to fly on a broomstick! This Broadway sensation will only be in Dallas until May 22nd.
