Look Radiant For The Holidays

Who said facials are just for girls? I hope you are looking toward the holidays as much as I am! Especially because it gives me a reason to look extra fabulous. However, pampering yourself does not mean going broke and spending every dime.

Here, I will give you the best DIY facial using the most natural and common products that most of you can find around the house. You will only need baking soda, raw honey (organic preferably), and olive oil.

As many of you know, baking soda and olive oil have multiple uses. Olive oil, according to Botanical Balms, contains polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats as well Vitamin E and more importantly Squalene. Squalene regulates bacteria growth on skin and it also contains antioxidants which protect the skin.

faceAfter reading an article in Countryside & Small Stock Journal, I decided to start using baking soda because it seemed to be a great exfoliant with sandy texture. Exfoliation is a must in a healthy skin regimen. It takes away any dead skin and keeps your skin looking and feeling soft.

Honey, on the flip side, is not only for your pancakes! According to Delicious Living, honey is a great healing agent because of  it’s antimicrobial property. In addition, skin will retain moisture so your skin won’t be feeling dry or dull.

The recipe below will not only help brighten your face but, as mentioned before, it will protect it while keeping it natural and easy on the pocket. This facial is best before bed time. Sleep regenerates your skin. So what better time to do this than when you get rid of all impurities!

1. -You will only need ½ tablespoon of baking soda and a tablespoon of raw honey. Mix it together and start rubbing it on your face in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water. Please keep in mind that this recipe is for one use only. Any type of exfoliation, should be done only 2-3 a week.

2-. Moisturize your skin right after exfoliation to replace any loss of moisture. For this step, just apply 4 – 6 drops of olive oil to your skin and massage very well.
