5 Hot Beauty Tips for this Summer

I HAVE GREAT NEWS!! Summer is officially here!! Its time to hit the playa, drink a nice pina colada and soak up some sun!! But before you leave I have a few tips that could be useful for you!! Read on!

1- Say Hello to your new BFF!

You’re best friend never leaves your side, and your sunscreen shouldn’t either! Sunscreen is extremely important when it comes to being outside for long periods of time. Use a sunscreen that has at least 30 SPF and continue to reapply it every 30-45 minutes. You’ll be lowering your chances of any sun damage to your skin

2- Pucker up!

Even your lips need some loving! The sun can be very harsh on your lips. Many of us forget about our lips and we end up with burned, chapped lips. No bueno!! Look for a lip balm that has an SPF and also reapply every 30 minutes.

3- Quench your body!

WATER! WATER! WATER! The sun tends to dehydrate our bodies. Water is our only salvation! Drink at least one COLD glass of water every hour. If you would like to add some flavor, some fresh cut fruit should do the trick. (I.e. lemons, oranges, strawberries). If you’re planning on drinking alcohol, remember: MODERATION IS KEY! Drink water in between your cocktails to make the effects less rough on you!

4- Keep it cool!

This one goes out to those who have oily skin! Keep you moisturizer in the refrigerator. What does this do? Well, I’m glad you asked! This process has a tightening effect on the skin. It closes pores as well, taking longer to produce oil. I know, I know! This is too good to be true!!

5- Too late for sunscreen?

So you laid out, fell asleep and now you have a horrible burn. Yes, been there, done that! Best way to help?? Aloe Vera! This plant has so many benefits but one of the main ones is treating sunburnt skin. Refrigerate the jelly for a few hours and then apply.
