Latino Fashion Week 2014 Brings The Heat

Chicago-based fashion show Latino Fashion Week has once again brought the heat!! This year this spectacle brought their tour “Beyond Exceptional” to Dallas along with great local and national designers ready to showcase their best work on the runway. The event took place at Dallas’ elite club SISU in Uptown Dallas.

The night began with an opening musical performance by Kury Luna, Dominican bachata artist from NY. After performing, celebrity emcees Adriana Lopez (Telemundo 39- Acceso Total) and Ana Cruz (107.5 FM La Grande) warmly welcomed the fashionistas. Founder Arabel Alva-Rosales and Cesar Rolon also made an appearance to thanks the guests and all who made Latino Fashion Week possible.

After words from emcees and founders, the real deal went down. The heat quickly ascended with CaritoCaro’s hot swimwear line. This line exhibits a bohemian look with a dash of elegance and style. After CaritoCaro’s work, KHG by Krystle Holnes made their way onto the runway. This line creates looks that are casual and fun. KHG also includes pieces that are perfect for evenings. Soon after, men (and women too!) got the chance to admire the work of Hueso Outlaw. A rebellious line for men who like to live on the edge and get down to the grit. Local designer Rulli Torres also got the opportunity to exhibit his latest work at Latino Fashion Week. From clean lines to detailed patters and fabrics, Rulli’s work has made him a designer sought-after. After Torres’ impressive display, another local made her appearance. Elvira Diaz’ line caters to men who love fashion and a practical look. Definitely a must-look from this designer on the rise. To seal the show, Binzario Couture exhibited it’s most appealing wedding gowns. Lace, tulle, and organza filled the runway and made it into one of the most magical moments of the night.

Seeing all these pieces, I think its safe to say it was another successful night of fashion in the city of Dallas! Latinos are on the rise and the world of fashion is not exempt. VIVA LOS LATINOS!
