Meet Up at the Museum: Living on the Land is an engaging event that explores how early communities lived in close connection with the environment, using natural resources to sustain themselves with intention, skill, and respect.

This interactive gathering invites guests of all ages to step into the world of traditional living. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and curated exhibits, you’ll learn how Indigenous peoples and early settlers thrived on the land. Discover the ingenuity behind their tools, the wisdom in their agricultural practices, and the deep spiritual connection they shared with the earth.

Meet up at the Museum: Living on the Land
    Thursday, August 7, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

Children and families will especially enjoy the hands-on crafts, including basket weaving, clay pottery, and planting heritage seeds. Guests can explore traditional hunting tools, herbal medicine displays, and food preparation demonstrations—each station offering a glimpse into sustainable life before modern conveniences.

More than just a history lesson, Living on the Land is a celebration of cultural resilience and environmental mindfulness. It’s a reminder of how much we can learn from the past as we navigate the future. This event is a beautiful opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and be inspired.
