Engage Dallas 2020 – A Guide to the City for Emerging Leaders

A message from the Mayor’s Star Council:

Join us for Engage Dallas, which is a day-in-the-life of the Mayor’s Star Council. Feel the energy. Get engaged. Be inspired. Make a commitment to your city.

Engage Dallas is open to our entire Dallas community, and will introduce the attendees to city and state leaders. This one day leadership summit offers the opportunity to connect with other passionate citizens, and provides a pathway to involvement.

This year we are starting super local and expanding state-wide throughout the day. In the morning, attendees will hear from local Upstanders as well as our City Manager and leaders from Dallas ISD, Uber and Children’s Health. We will have an incredible conversation entitled “Blue City, Red State” with Evan Smith from The Texas Tribune and Rudy Bush from The Dallas Morning News. Mayor Johnson will address the group at lunch, followed by a Let’s Talk Legislation Panel in the afternoon. We will end the day with a Senate Forum, and Senator John Cornyn has already confirmed his participation. One of the most incredible opportunities for the entire day will be our Hall of Engagement. Here our participants will be able to speak directly with current Dallas leaders on topics such as mental health and public safety, and learn the best way for them to get engaged in that topic in Dallas. Please check out the full schedule of the day here: www.mayorstarcouncil.org/engagedallas2020.

Mayor’s Star Council cannot be defined as one thing because there are so many incredible people who make up the MSC family. We have valuable partnerships with nonprofits, businesses, foundations and civic leaders who we greatly appreciate. We are a supportive community of like-hearted individuals, and we hope you’ll join us.

Applications are currently open from March 1-May 1 for Class 9. We hope to meet you soon at one of our upcoming information sessions: www.mayorstarcouncil.org/infosessions
