North Texas is stepping further into the global spotlight ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, as FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco and Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield have officially been designated as Team Base Camp Training Sites for the tournament.
The two facilities will serve as training headquarters for national teams competing in the world’s biggest sporting event. As part of FIFA’s Team Base Camp program, two of the final qualified teams will be assigned to train and operate out of these North Texas venues throughout the competition.
Monica Paul, President of the North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, said the announcement highlights the strength of the region’s sports infrastructure.
“We are thrilled that both FC Dallas Stadium and Mansfield Stadium were selected,” Paul said. “North Texas had several outstanding facilities involved in the process, and we’re proud to have two locations representing our region on the world stage.”
Team Base Camp Training Sites play a critical role during the tournament, providing national teams with consistent, high-quality training environments and operational headquarters throughout the competition.
North Texas will be one of the tournament’s major hubs. The region will host nine World Cup matches at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, while the International Broadcast Center will operate from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. Fans will also gather at a multi-week FIFA Fan Festival at Fair Park.
Final team assignments for each base camp will be confirmed once the official qualification process concludes.
