Dallas Councilwoman Delia Jasso Hosts Candlelight Vigil at City Hall Plaza for Domestic Abuse Victims

Candlelight Vigil in Memory of Domestic Abuse Victims

Dallas City Councilwoman Delia Jasso, Chairwoman of the Domestic Violence Task Force, will host a candlelight vigil in memory of loved ones lost to domestic abuse on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, 6:00 PM. at Dallas City Hall Plaza, 1500 Marilla,  Dallas, Texas 75201.

Councilwoman Jasso will be joined by community partners and religious leaders to speak up against domestic violence and honor those who’ve fallen victim to this abuse. Survivors of domestic abuse and family members of victims will also be speaking.

The Domestic Violence Task Force was created by the City of Dallas’ Public Safety Committee in 1987. Its purpose is to research, explore, develop and monitor the City’s response to the problem of family violence in Dallas, and the Police Department’s enforcement of laws relating to family violence.
