Fort Worth Events- February 2014

February 8- Last Great Gunfight- Known in Wild West folklore as the location of Fort Worth’s last gunfight, the White Elephant Saloon will reenact the infamous dual between Sheriff Longhair Jim Courtright and saloon owner Luke Short on February 8 at 6 p.m. Suitable for all ages. FREE.

February 11-16- Ghost: The Musical- Relive the iconic and magical moments from the Oscar-winning movie Ghost in a brand-new Broadway musical presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth. Performances run February 11-16 in Bass Performance Hall.

February 16-  Samurai: Armor from the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Collection, the first traveling exhibit to be displayed in the Kimbell Art Museum’s new Renzo Piano Pavilion, takes visitors back to a time of the revered and feared Japanese samurai warriors. Over 100 remarkable items will be on display February 16 through August 17.

February 21-23-  The 36th annual Cowtown Marathon will be held February 21-23, at Will Rogers Memorial Center with 29,000-plus runners registered to participate in one of seven events, including the marathon and half marathon. The Cowtown is one of the largest multi-event road races in the country and benefits multiple charities.

February 22- Feast your eyes on more than 60 paintings that explore the art and culture of food. Art and Appetite features iconic works by Edward Hopper, Norman Rockwell and Andy Warhol, and takes you on a delightful culinary adventure. Exhibit opens February 22. Admission is FREE.
