Applications are now open for the 2027 Carter Community Artists program. Four North Texas artists will collaborate with the Amon Carter Museum of American Art on community projects, programs, and events.
Calling all North Texas artists! The Amon Carter Museum of American Art is now accepting applications for its 2027 Carter Community Artists program.
Each year, the Carter selects four local artists to collaborate with the Museum’s education team on creative projects, programs, and events. This yearlong opportunity gives artists the chance to share their unique perspectives while connecting with audiences throughout the community.
This yearlong opportunity runs from January through December 2027. Selected artists will bring their creative skills and unique perspectives to projects inspired by the Carter’s collection, exhibitions, history, and educational programs.
About the Carter Community Artists Program
Launched in 2018, the Carter Community Artists program supports local artists while helping the Museum build stronger connections throughout North Texas.
Artists from a variety of creative practices, media, and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The program provides an opportunity to collaborate with Museum staff, connect with the community, and help audiences experience art in new and meaningful ways.
2027 Program Details
- Application deadline: Monday, September 7, 2026
- Artists selected: Four North Texas artists
- Program dates: January–December 2027
- Time commitment: Approximately 20–40 hours throughout the year
- Selected artists announced: Late fall 2026
The program welcomes artists with a variety of creative practices, media, interests, and perspectives. It is an opportunity to collaborate, build community, and introduce audiences to new ways of experiencing art.
