Janet Villarreal is a contributing writer and editor for Infórmate DFW since 2009. Initially writing for the Cultural section of our magazine, Janet eventually took over bigger projects and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Spring and Summer 2012 issues.
Apart from writing and editing, she has also covered media events such as the Dallas International Film Festival and various music concerts. Janet has also been part of our very successful networkers, even serving as Mistress of Ceremony for our Spring 2012 networker celebrating cover person Valerie Jimenez.
Janet was enlisted in the United States Navy upon H.S. graduation and served as an IT Specialist until her honorable discharge in 2006. She is currently serving as a Logistics Specialist at Naval Air Station, Join Reserve Base Fort Worth in support of the Naval Operational Support Center.
Janet is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at University of Texas Arlington and enjoys the outdoors, traveling, going to sports events and concerts, as well as playing softball with her team (Bomb Squad). For suggestions and story ideas contact her at janet@informatedfw.com
