Ballet Hispánico is the nation’s leading Latino dance organization, celebrating Latino culture for nearly 50 years through the lens of innovative contemporary modern dance. The dance company brings part of its 2019 season to Dallas with the award-winning Sombrerísimo, choreographed by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa.  Sombrerísimo, which won the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award, is inspired by the paintings of René Magritte and the function of hats in different cultures.

“Ballet Hispánico loves the city of Dallas, and we are thrilled to be a part of our brothers’ and sisters’ celebration at Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Their mission of diversity and inclusion resounds in our own mission and in our hearts,” said Eduardo Vilaro, Artistic Director and CEO, Ballet Hispánico.
