A message from Dallas ISD District 4 Trustee, Karla Garcia:

I am proud to announce that one of our District 4 principals was commended for her outstanding leadership!

Francine Taylor, principal at H. Grady Spruce High School received the 2019 Secondary Principal of the Year (POY) award.

Dallas ISD officials announced the 2019 POY winners during a special ceremony on Wednesday, December 11. She joins 2019 POY awardees Ida Escobedo and Nancy Bernardino, who won in the Elementary and Choice School categories respectively.

Taylor and five other District 4 principals were also commended as Master Principals. For the second year in a row, Dallas ISD recognized school leaders based on a measure on the campus growth, achievement and school climate.

Fourteen elementary school principals, five secondary school principals and four choice school principals received awards. Among them, are:

  • Rubinna Sanchez – Julius Dorsey Elementary School
  • Julie Singleton – Central Elementary School
  • Damien Stovall – Edward Titche Elementary School
