2012 Ford Truck Showcase at Texas State Fair

While the economic climate has led focus to more fuel-efficient, smaller cars, leading automakers highlighted updates to their truck lineups at the State Fair of Texas.

Ford Motors Co. — unveiled their 2012 truck models at Thursday’s State Fair media preview.

Amid the glitz and glamour of the new models is the front-end camera on Ford’s F-150 SVT Raptor that helps drivers see the terrain ahead at an angle invisible through the windshield. The camera system is a first in the truck industry, Ford Marketing Development Manager Jason Woods said. Ford also launched a 36-gallon tank, the F-150 EcoBoost V-6 engine that extends range to 756 miles, about 250 more miles than the nearest competitor’s tank allows between fill-ups. The 2012 Harley-Davidson F-150 edition delivers custom design and a bold exterior, and is ready to strike with snakeskin leather accent interiors. The truck is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 gas engine and features cooled front seats for extreme Texas temperatures.

State Fair goers can see Ford’s new trucks and autos for free.
