First Women in Technology Accelerator Set to Launch in DFW

The LiftFund Dallas/Fort Worth Women’s Business Center seeks applications for its inaugural Women in Technology Business Accelerator launching this September

The Women in Technology (WiTech) Business Accelerator is a unique program designed to foster growth, innovation and sustainability for early stage female tech founders through entrepreneurial training, mentoring and peer learning. This first-of-its-kind business accelerator is hosted by the LiftFund Dallas/Fort Worth Women’s Business Center, in partnership with Women’s Technology Coalition, DFW Alliance of Technology and Women, the Dallas Business Journal and Comerica Bank.

The Women’s Business Center and its partner organizations understand the unique difficulties women faced as business owners, especially when competing in a male-dominated field. Therefore, the WiTech Business Accelerator seeks to arm female entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed in the fast-pace and innovative tech industry.

“Dallas/Ft. Worth has a great entrepreneurial ecosystem to support women-owned IT firms. We saw an opportunity to level the playing field by empowering women in technology through the creation of our Women in Technology (WiTech) Business Accelerator,” says Tarsha Polk, Director of LiftFund Dallas/Fort Worth Women’s Business Center and creator of the program.

During the nine-week program, participants will learn from industry experts who will lead each training session, and mentors who will spend time providing guidance during several one-on-one meetings. There will also be ample networking opportunities to help participants expand their network and support system. The program is valued at over $4,000; however, accepted participants will only pay a one-time fee of $199, which includes course materials, books, meals, and various opportunities for exposure.

Applications are open now until August 30th, 2019; there is a $25 fee to apply. Accepted participants will meet every Tuesday at 4:30 PM from September 10th to November 5th.
