DFW Hispanic100 to Honor Latina Living Legend and ELLA Award Winners Next Week

Event will be held at the Perot Museum, Wednesday, October 23, 2034

The DFW Hispanic100 (H100), a network of Dallas/Ft. Worth area Hispanic women leaders working to increase business and leadership opportunities for Latinas, will honor Rosa Navejar, President of The Rios Group, Inc., a civil engineering firm that provides Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination services, with its 2024 Latina Living Legend (LLL) Award. They will also honor Raquel Amparo, President and General Manager, CBS Texas, with
its Emerging Latina Leader Award (ELLA). This year’s event will be held at Perot Museum with emcee Kristen Diaz from KRLD.

The LLL award recognizes the lifetime commitment of a DFW area Latina who has distinguished herself through her profession, active community and civic participation, volunteerism, and/or philanthropic endeavors.

“Rosa has made impactful economic and social improvements for the Latino community, and she is a visionary leader who is highly regarded for her advocacy work in both the local and national arenas,” said Adriana Ocampo, President of the H100. “Rosa’s record to shape and impact business practices and policy and her rise as a highly respected and influential Latina in both private and public forums set her apart.”

The ELLA award recognizes a Latina professional making an impact on women and girls through her engagement and leadership in her community and profession.

“Raquel exemplifies all the characteristics of an emerging leader. She has demonstrated her commitment to create greater for visibility for Latinas, highlighting underserved communities, and her work with the Hispanic Communicators of DFW and NAHJ has created opportunities to deliver messages that empower the next generation of journalists and improve the quality of life for all,” said Adriana Ocampo, President of the H100. “Professionally, she is one of the very few Latinas in a media co-management role, which will allow her to create even greater access.”

Past honorees of the Latina Living Legend award have included some of the most prominent Latina leaders in North Texas such as the honorable Anita N. Martinez, Gloria Campos, Adelfa B. Callejo, Dr. Gloria Contreras, Dolores Gomez Barzune, Dr. Catalina Garcia, Sheriff Lupe Valdez, Dr. Michele Bobadilla, Bea Salazar, Mercedes Olivera who was honored posthumously, Lupita Colmenero, Regina Montoya, Hilda Galvan, Linda Valdez Thompson, and Viola Delgado.
