Lyft discount-code ads projected to reach over 1 million views to reduce impaired driving
DALLAS, Nov. 5, 2025 — At its 15th annual press conference, the Dallas County DWI Taskforce introduced End the Night Right, its first countywide, in-venue digital advertising campaign aimed at encouraging more residents and businesses than ever to choose safe transportation and help save lives this holiday season.
Organized by Dallas County District 4 and Constable Precinct 4, the Grand Prairie Police Department, MADD Texas and AAA Texas, the public service initiative will leverage the local $24 billion nightlife economy to engage patrons at more than 100 bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. English- and Spanish-language digital screen ads with QR codes for Lyft discounts of $20 or more will encourage responsible holiday celebrations and safe rides home. This digital out-of-home outreach, combined with mobile ads that extend the message to patrons online, marks a significant expansion from a record 39 venues and discounts starting at $5 in past campaigns.
The ads will run from Nov. 24 through Jan. 4 and are expected to generate over 1 million impressions or views across in-venue and mobile placements. The campaign is sponsored by Dallas County, Parkland Health, EpicCentral, Methodist Dallas Medical Center, AAA Texas, Smart Start, Accelerate Gives Foundation Fund, Armbruster Productions and BGM Media Consulting.
“With this year’s expanded efforts, the DWI Taskforce will meet more people where they are — before they get behind the wheel,” said Dr. Elba Garcia, Dallas County commissioner for District 4 and chair of the DWI Taskforce. “Impaired driving is 100 percent preventable. Every safe ride home through this campaign brings us closer to a Dallas County community that chooses life over drinking and driving.”
In 2024, Dallas County lost 102 people to 1,945 alcohol-related crashes, the second-highest death toll among Texas counties. Statewide, drunken driving causes about one in four traffic deaths, with the rate rising to 28% during the holiday period, according to Texas Department of Transportation reports.
“Research shows that access to transportation options, including rideshare services like Lyft, can significantly help reduce drunk-driving fatalities,” said Emma Dugas, MADD Texas state program manager.
“Holiday festivities can increase the risk of impaired driving. While the DWI Taskforce provides tools for safe rides home, preventing tragedies is a community-wide responsibility. Choose to drive sober, or don’t drive at all.”
