Blueberries
In an article released by Fitness Magazine, blueberries were named one of the top 10 super foods for your skin. Blueberries are filled with antioxidants. For those new to the terms antioxidants, they help combat premature aging. So say “Goodbye” to fine lines and wrinkles! Add them to your oatmeal, cereal, yogurt or even your salad! Tastes delicious! Kiwis
This delicious fruit is another super fruit that we would like to add to our list! According to Ladies’ Home Journal, kiwis are packed with Vitamin C, which helps the skin keep its collagen. Collagen is what makes our skin feel firm and tight. Blend 2 peeled and sliced kiwis with 2 cups of milk, a tablespoon of peanut butter and cinnamon and Voila! you have yourself a nice breakfast smoothie! You can thank me later!
Dark chocolate
Our list wouldn’t be complete without adding this mega-super food! It’s ok to jump for joy! In an article by Readers Digest, it is said that dark chocolate actually protects the skin by absorbing UV light, increasing blood flow and helping skin with hydration and complexion issues. However, this sweet does contain a lot of calories, which is why only three ounces a day will do!
Tomatoes
There is an array of ways that tomatoes can be used! Sources from U.S News say that tomatoes are great for protecting skin against any UV damage. Tomatoes contain a chemical called lycopene, which is an antioxidant. If you’ve noticed throughout this entire list, antioxidants are essential to have great skin. Latinos like to have this one delicacy that is loaded with tomatoes. Does salsa sound familiar?! I’m sure it does!
Spinach
Spinach is just one of those veggies that has to grow on you. I admit it. I wasn’t a fan of these in the beginning. But now, I love spinach! According to our same Fitness Magazine source, spinach is an amazing source of (brace yourselves!) Vitamin B, C, E, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, omega-3 acids and yes, you guessed it antioxidants! That’s a whole whopping of the “good stuff”! So load up on your spinach salads!
Green tea
Green Tea isn’t exactly a food but our list isn’t complete without this super food or should I say super drink! An article on Huffington Post shares the benefits of drinking green tea. Not only is this drink great for reducing the growth of cancer, but also it is also good for hydrating the skin. This drink is also packed with antioxidants, which make it great for preventing any sun damage or premature lines or wrinkles. To add on all these great benefits, it is also a great drink for weight loss.
