Melissa Simon is starting her first full year as a teacher at Annie Webb Blanton Elementary School. She is the first in her family to attend college and is about to begin her teaching career at the age of 20. Simon said. “I took a risk and I did not know anything about the university.”
“As I see it, education is the means to get out of poverty. And as I did, others can also achieve it.”
